Axie Adventure introduces a slew of new mechanics to Homeland including Combat Quality, Adventure Fatigue, and Power Rate. In this article, you’ll find a big picture overview of these mechanics and a deeper dive into individual game stats.
Introducing Axie Adventure in Homeland! Homeland is a land-based game where players build settlements, gather resources, and craft items using NFT axies. However, the game’s PvE Passive Adventure mode has only featured NPC Adventurers with randomized outcomes – until now.
The new Axie Adventure replaces NPC Adventurers with NFT axies, which opens the door to a flurry of new game mechanics including more skill-based strategy. Send YOUR axies to PvE battle! In this article, you’ll find an overview of the new mechanics followed by a deeper dive into the role of individual stats like Part Evolved and Power Rate. Here we go!
In Axie Adventure, Axie Class will determine an axie’s specialized skills. Build your team wisely: some classes will have special advantages. For example, Plant axies are more tanky while Bird axies are faster. Reptiles tend to be better all-rounders. Axies’ Evolved Rating and Combat Quality will also determine extra abilities.
Send axies into battle anytime – whether they’re working or not. However, keep in mind that axies can only earn AXP from one activity at a time. That means you can earn AXP from Axie Adventure or regular gameplay, but not both. That also means every axis in a player’s account will be available to enlist at all times.
Enlist up to 100 axies for battle in Axie Adventure. If an axie enters into battle, it will be unavailable until the battle ends. There will also be a delay before you can reuse them, which can last up to 10 minutes.
It’s easy to send your Axies on an adventure — but winning is much harder! Equip your Axies to maximize their performance and clear as many stages as possible. After sending your Axies on an adventure, you’ll need to wait until they finish their current battles before you can send them out again. The adventure cooldown for each Axie can last up to 10 minutes.
We’ve covered the big picture, so let’s dive into the details. Here are the new stats going LIVE with Axie Adventure:
There are two factors that influence an axie’s Combat Level: core levels and Altar of Atia levels. An axie’s core level determines its potential max Combat Level, while a plot’s Altar of Atia level determines its Combat Level cap. Here are two examples:
A level 60 axie has the potential to reach a Combat Level of 60. However, it has to reach an Altar of Atia Level 10 first. On the other hand a level 20 axie only has the potential to reach a Combat Level of 20 — even if its Altar of Atia reaches level 10.
Note: Combat Levels will no longer reset when transferring plots, because they’ll be associated with individual axies!
Adventure Fatigue is a stamina mechanic. It limits how often players can use an axie in the new Passive Adventure each day. After all, battling is hard work! An axie’s core level determines its limits. Higher levels, higher stamina, more adventures. Adventure Fatigue will reset once per day at 8AM PH / 8PM EST, and will not regenerate within the same day.
Note: Transferring, selling or delegating the Axie to another account will not reset the axie’s Adventure Fatigue.
Once Axie Adventure goes LIVE, an Axie’s Evolved Rating will influence its Combat Quality. Evolved Ratings are a scoring system based on part evolution, where different collectible axie types receive different ratings. This also means MOAR utility for collectible axies!
Higher evolved ratings → Higher combat quality → Higher stats modifier → Stronger Axie for the Passive Adventure.
Evolved ratings come in two types: Base Ratings and Part Evolved Ratings.
Base Ratings: This is a one-time score given to a specific type of Collectible Axie without having any parts evolved.
Part Evolved Ratings: This score depends on the types and number of collection parts an Axie has evolved.
Combat quality is a combat stat modifier that depends on the total evolved rating. It multiplies an axies base stats. Higher combat quality means greater combat power.
There will be different combat qualities assigned to each evolve rating (e.g., +0 is Normal 1, +4 is Epic 2, +9 is Legendary 4).
Higher evolve ratings provide greater combat quality multipliers.
Here’s an example illustrating these mechanics:
If you have a normal Axie that has been evolved 6 times, its combat quality will be Legendary 1, with a total evolved rating of 6.
Now, consider a Mystic Axie with the following evolution breakdown:
The total evolved rating for this Mystic Axie would be:
1 + 4 + 12 = 17
This gives the Axie a combat quality of Divine+, corresponding to a total evolved rating of 17.
In Axie Adventure, each axie has a Power Rate. This represents the axie’s overall strength based on its others stats and equipment. Power Rates play an important part in plot progression, which influences a player’s total available Battle Tickets — and every Adventure will cost 1 Battle Ticket.
Improve Stats —> Increase Power Rate —> Increase Plot Progression —> Increase Available Battle Tickets —> Go on MOAR Adventures —> Repeat.
Plot progression has long been LIVE behind the scenes. However, Axie Adventure makes it visible with a new UI. Land Plot progress bars will increase by one point every time an axie with a Power Rate of 200,000 or more goes on an Adventure — up to a maximum of 7 points. Previous plot progression will carry over to this new system, but transferring/selling plots will reset their progressions. In a future update, we plan to enable plot progression to follow a plot — regardless of whether it gets sold or transferred.
Battle Tickets are the price of admission for an Axie Adventure. 1 Battle Ticket = 1 Adventure. If you want to send three axies to battle, you’d need three battle tickets. Each plot will also produce battle tickets that regenerate over time. Plot type, account progression, and plot progression will determine the number of battle tickets available. Higher Consumer’s Corner and Survivor’s Shop levels will also increase a player’s maximum number of battle tickets.
Axies can now earn AXP through the new Passive Adventure!
The total AXP an Axie earns depends on several factors:
If an Axie goes to battle alone, it will receive all the AXP earned. If axies are sent out together, each member will receive a part of the total AXP. For example, in a party of 2, each member will receive 75% of the total AXP. In a party of 3, each member will receive 50% of the total AXP.
The AXP an Axie can earn from the Axie Adventure may be adjusted over time as we monitor the impact of this updates on the AXP system.
We expect new dynamics to emerge in Homeland now that Axie Adventure and Axie Delegation are LIVE. For example, the ability to borrow the most powerful NFT axies through Axie Delegation will unlock exciting new player strategies to climb the Passive Adventure Leaderboard. As a result, this update is more than a fun feature: it’s a major integration of the axie economy — and Axie Core — into Homeland. Together, the two features will be much more interesting for all players, from Stewards to Landowners alike.
While we’re on a brief pause on major Homeland updates as we prepare for Axie Delegation, our team has been hard at work crafting an engaging new feature to reward your in-game progress. Introducing the Axie Adventure Weekly Leaderboard! The Top 200 Finishers will receive Ancient Coins, while Rank 201 and below will receive Gold as well as various items like consumables, armour, weapons, and acccesories. We’ll distribute rewards at the end of every week!
Note: The higher your rank, the more items you’ll receive, both in quantity and level. These items will help you climb higher on next week’s leaderboard.
This new system will recognize and reward players who make significant advancements in both Homeland and the Axie Core.
Higher-level plots ➡️ better gears and consumables
Higher-level, evolved, and collectible axies ➡️ stronger adventurers
Combined, you’ve got a recipe to blast up the ranks on the weekly leaderboard!
Here’s how it works:
Press Start Count to begin earning points (like the Adventurer’s Rush event).
Send up to 20 teams daily (1-3 Axies per team) on adventures.
The Start Count limit of 20 teams resets daily at 6 PM PH / 6 AM EST.
Your team of axies scores points based on the total floors completed. This means that if you use checkpoints, the lower floors you’ve skipped won’t count toward your score points.
Points scoring on the leaderboard is plot-based, not account-based.
For now, the weekly leaderboard ends on every Wednesday 3PM PHT / 3AM EST. However, this schedule is subject to change as we monitor the feature’s performance and reception.
Introducing the Moonfall Chest Overflow event! During this event, available Moonfall chests will DOUBLE:
Extra Special Chest: 1 per day → 2 per day
👇Premium Chest: 50 per day → 100 per day
Common Chest: Up to 200 per day → Up to 400 per day
This event will run for two weeks, from October 17, 2024 at 6 PM PHT | 6AM EST to October 31, 2024 at 3 PM PHT | 3 AM EST.
Along with these Axie Adventure updates, we’ll ship a few QoL updates, bug fixes, and a balance update for Moonfall quests related to gathering, producing, and crafting quests. In the balance update, you can expect a 15-50% reduction in quest difficulty. That means you’ll need up to 50% less time to complete these updated Moonfall quests. Axie-specific adventure quests are coming too!
Improved Resource Transferring: You can now search and filter items, select multiple slots simultaneously, and send multiple packages to another plot with greater ease.
Storage Overview: A new menu at the top of the screen will display all storage capacities and provide quick access to the storage menu.
Auction House UX Improvement: When you tap the back button, you’ll now return to the previous page or resource you were viewing, instead of being redirected to the initial page.
Public Deposit Node Flicker: We’ve reduced the flicker on the Public Deposit nodes in the World Map for a smoother experience.
Lunacia, we wish you good luck on your first Axie Adventure. Think about all the things a single axie can do: duke it out PvP in Origins or Classic, build or battle PvE in Homeland, earn rewards through Bounty Boards — the list goes on. Our digital nation has come a long way, and we’re just getting started. Let’s keep pushing.
