New Classic Updates are LIVE! Lunacians, Season 8 is approaching and arena renovations are complete. We’ve expanded Tower Mode. Brough utility to Gear. Shipped a flurry of UI updates. This is the perfect time to get up to speed before the regular season kicks off. Here’s what’s happening:

The new Axie Classic Quest System features two sections; Starter and Guardian Quests. We designed Starter Mode to help new players explore Classic — without any axie ownership requirements.
That means players can earn Gold, Gems, and other rewards by completing certain quests. Quests include logging in for the first time, completing PvP battles, clearing Towers on easy mode, and more. This makes the onboarding process more comfortable for new recruits.
On the other hand, Guardian Mode Quests have an onchain component and require players to have three of their own axies — whether owner or delegated. Rewards include Gold and Dust as well as Premium Pass Rewards for those who purchase the Battle Pass.
These quests range from PvP victories to Cursed Coliseum win streaks and beyond. You’ll need to have more skill to secure these rewards!

Tower Mode is a PvE game mode in Classic where difficulty increases as you move up through a tower’s floors. Defeat axie teams —> Complete floors —> Earn stars and rewards —> Accumulate AXP. Starting today, towers will expand by 5 floors! That means there will be 10 available floors by the second week.
In the first week, players will have access to five easy floors without any environmental debuffs, allowing them to progress smoothly. In the second week, five harder floors will be unlocked, introducing environmental debuffs that add an extra layer of challenge.

In January, we revealed our plans to bring utility to Gear by Season 8. Today, that utility went LIVE! Gear is a feature that can be equipped, upgraded, and crafted in Axie Classic. Think of it like Runes and Charms from Origins — but different. Anyone can now equip, upgrade, and craft Gear in Classic.
Note: Gear is not available for Cursed Coliseum sessions. Axies cannot have a matching priority and type, as this would be a Gear conflict. If an axie has a gear conflict, the entire team setup will revert to the previous valid team setup — including Artifacts.
Bonus: All Ronin addresses with an Axie Classic account will receive a free Level 3 HP Gear. Check your inventory now!
We adjusted the Attack+ Buff mechanic for clarity and balance. In the past, this buff lasted for a set number of rounds. Now, it lasts for a specific number of turns from the next card used.
In particular, we updated Cockadoodledoo to apply Attack+ to the whole team while removing Morale. Each Axie will now receive the Attack+ bonus for one turn. On top of that, players can upgrade the buff to Attack++ (40% attack boost) for one turn by using another Cockadoodledoo.
For example, if Axie A has four buffs and Axie B has five buffs, playing another Cockadoodledoo will increase Axie A’s buff count to five, while Axie B remains at five buffs.
Note that axies can stack up to five Cockadoodledoo buffs. Previously, if a single Axie used a card, the entire team would lose the buff.
Added back the artifact icon to the Confirm Challenge UI.
Added a button to delete a guild, with the condition: The guild must have no Axie, GP, or AXS in the Vault and only one member.
Fixed an issue where placing an Axie in Guild Support would prevent pagination from appearing in the My Axie UI when accessed from the Team UI, making some Axies unfindable.
Fixed an issue where the tooltips for the effects “Heal Block” and “Penetrate” displayed incorrect text.
Fixed an issue where the Season 7 Premium Pass banner did not appear in the UI.
Fixed an issue where gold chests could not be opened on some occasions.
Fixed an issue where artifacts could not be equipped on some occasions.
Fixed an issue where the owner guild rank was not displayed in the Guild Leaderboard.
Fixed an issue where, after filtering Axies, selected filter options were lost when reopening the filter UI.
Removed the “Equip” button for artifacts in the Inventory.
Improved queue times in the off-season; player queue times have been reduced by half.
Improved the artifact unequip option, allowing players to select the unequip button.
Improved the card collection by adding a card name search feature.
Improved the friend request system; players can now accept or reject all friend requests at once.
Improved the Axie accessory system by enabling updates to accessories.
Improved Tower Mode floor information by displaying debuffs.
Improved Starter Mode behavior: If no free team is available, clicking “OK” will return the user to the class selection UI instead of exiting the game.
Improved the upgrade button for Starter mode, changing it to “Upgrade to Guardian Mode”
Over the past year, Axie Classic has seen a flurry of upgrades including Guilds, Tournaments, new features, and beyond. Today, even moar upgrades are LIVE as we approach the game’s eighth season. Let’s keep pushing.
